STORY
Dx motor is based on five phase direct drive
electric propulsion technology (DDEP). The light
weight motor is able to produce a torque of
22Nm and deliver a peak power of 400Watts
(programmable). The motor weighs merely 2kg.
Falco’s DDEP uses unique five-phase
permanent magnet motor architecture and
winding design to establish superior
performance over existing three-phase motors.
The exceptional improvements are 25 reduction
in motor and inverter weight, 10% increase in
efficiency, reduction of cogging torque to zero,
and increase in power and torque density by
30% over three phase greared or gearless
motors.
